Seoul’s Baby Box

In 2018, I was awarded first place for the Excellence in Student Religion Reporting Chandler Award by the Religious News Association. This piece is one of three story entries on the intersection of Korean culture and religion done in partnership with Knight Foundation Chair Diane Winston.

A teaser video for the Fate of Seoul's Baby Box Children. Example of some footage I have that can be used to document the baby's journey or be used as ambient video to illustrate different points in the story.

Through the Lens, BBC

Elliott Erwitt traveled to the Soviet Union and Cuba during the Cold War. In the eighth video of BBC Culture’s Through the Lens series, he describes his iconic photos of Richard Nixon, Nikita Khrushchev, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara.

Jugaad: An untranslatable word for winging it, BBC

Let BBC’s claymation tutorial expand your vocabulary with a word that appears in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi but describes something English speakers know very well– “jugaad.”

Dai: The Italian word with many meanings, BBC

I asked Italian speakers on the streets of New York to explain the importance of the word “Dai” and what it says about the Italian language for BBC Culture.

The ‘untranslatable’ Japanese phrase that predicts love, BBC

The “untranslatable” Japanese phrase “Koi No Yokan” is “the premonition of love.” I asked Japanese speakers what it meant to them for BBC Culture.

Bold & Untold by MAKERS

I helped produce and edit a social-first video series for MAKERS on all the badass women ripped out of history books. You can find the series on MAKERS' Facebook Watch page, YouTube channel and website.

Weigh-ins. No-marriage policies. And by age 32, you were out of a job. Dusty Roads knew someone had to take a stand up against sexism among flight attendants-so she caused some turbulence and landed in history books.

Women Make Sh*t Happen, MAKERS

I developed, produced and edited a weekly video show that rounded up the top women's news of the week. The videos were made to be optimized for smartphones and various social media platforms. I created original motion graphics and developed the voice and format of the show.

Here at MAKERS, we already know the future is female. But in case you forgot, here's a roundup of women who made sh*t happen the week of September 15.
